Ready-To-Use-Kimai
« on: October 02, 2012, 10:16:47 AM »
While I was answering an question in the Kimai-Forum, I thought about why not uploading an ready-to-use-kimai.

So I downloaded XAMPP, created an DB, downloaded Kimai, took it to the web-root, rewrote the web-rootand installed kimai.

So here's the file for you: http://shorted.de/2q
Its round about 94 MB filesize.

1. Download
2. Unzip
3. Run setup_xampp.bat
4. Chose "1: Refresh"
5. Wait and close the Window after progress has finished
6. Start xampp-control.exe
7. Open http://localhost
8. Log in wit user admin and pw changeme
9. Use Kimai :)

Wow, thanks for that. Sounds good, problem ist: I cannot test it, as I don't have Windows ;)
Is it possible to somehow make it abstract, so we could automatically merge the latest Kimai sources into the download package and then crate a download package?

I just don't have any other OS instead of Windows, because Windows is the truth :P
No seriously, for other OS, other people have to do this.

An automatic build... sounds good but how would you do the DB-changes? You can automaticly unzip it, place the new kimai-files in the web-root and than zip it again, but the DB-changes wouldn't noticed, so the user has to click "update".

Any Idea?

Hey Kevin,
what's the state? I just have made an RTU-Package for Kimai 0.9.3beta at http://rtu.kimai.org/windows/kimai-0-9-3beta/.

Would be nice to have it automated :)
